ICTP to Offer 5-Week Parent Coaching Group
Parenting a teen with mental health and substance use concerns is different!
ICTP staff have seen firsthand the difficulties involved in raising teens with these complex needs. We have heard from countless parents that the “usual” strategies just aren’t working and that they feel they are running out of ideas. We understand and we want to help. Parents and caregivers of youth with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders are invited to attend a FREE 5-week workshop with ICTP Director Susan Caverly, PhD, ARNP and some of our licensed therapists. Learn about the complexities of the teenage brain and why co-occurring disorders require a different set of strategies. Adults can expect to learn skills to help develop healthy household expectations, reduce conflict, enhance relationships, and maintain safety in the home.
The group is open to parents and caregivers who are concerned about co-occurring mental health and substance use issues with their teen. Priority is given to residents of South Snohomish County, though residents of other areas may also attend if space is available.
The group will take place on Monday evenings 6:30-8:30pm beginning February 26, 2018 at the Verdant Community Wellness Center: 4710 196th St. SW, Lynnwood, WA.
