Youth Engagement Program (YEP)
In partnership with King County (funding through the City of Seattle) Public Health Department–Office of Community and School-Based Partnerships and Asian Counseling and Referral Services. The THS-Youth & Family Services Youth Outreach Specialist provides outreach services at both Franklin and West Seattle High Schools, as well as the surrounding catchment areas. The YEP program is designed to improve treatment outcomes by providing culturally enhanced, relevant services for ethnic and sexual minority youth who are involved with drugs or alcohol, involved in risky behaviors, or involved or at-risk for becoming involved in the juvenile justice system. Our staff helps youth develop a plan to address individually identified goals and connect to and engage with appropriate community resources and/or treatment opportunities.
“Today, I can say that I have come a long way. I have learned life lessons that will never leave me, tools for success that I will never forget, and principles and morals that I apply every day of my life. Now, I am a medical assistant working in the medical field towards a career as a registered nurse.”
